What is Capernaum?

What is Young Life Capernaum?

Young Life Capernaum gives young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the chance to experience fun and adventure, to develop fulfilling friendships and to challenge their limits while building self-esteem through club, camp and other exciting activities. Young Life staff and volunteers model Christ’s unconditional love and acceptance as they walk alongside these young adults — filling their lives with love and support.

We meet on the 2nd and 4th fridays of each month from 6:30pm-7:30pm at United Methodist Church of Libertyville.

This is open to any teen or young adult with special needs. Check out the video below to learn more!

What is Capernaum Club and Camping?

Capernaum Club
Capernaum clubs give kids and young adults with disabilities a chance to get out and have fun with peers and leaders. While our friends with disabilities are always welcome at Young Life and WyldLife clubs, Capernaum clubs are tailored with extra fun activities just for them.
At each Capernaum Club in Lake County we will have 2 people trained in CPR and First Aid.

Capernaum Camping
Capernaum gives young people with disabilities an unforgettable and life-changing experience at camp. With one-on-one help and attention from their Young Life leaders, at a top-notch camp in picturesque surroundings, these young people get to do as many of the camp activities as possible. Skiing, horseback riding and mountain climbing are among these exciting adventures.  In Lake County we want every young person to experience Young Life camp and we offer financial assistance to make that possible!
